How to Apply
All UK scientists who wish to use the computational chemistry software on the NSCCS Cluster are invited to apply for computing resources using the application form given below.
Any researcher eligible to apply for an EPSRC grant can apply for resources.
*Please note that postgraduate students and research assistants are not eligible to apply in person. If they wish to apply for resources, they must do so via their supervisor.
Resources of up to 100,000 CPU hours on the NSCCS machines can be requested for a maximum of one year.
Applications for the use of multiple processors, where appropriate, are encouraged. All applications must contain a scientific case for support which will be peer reviewed by members of the Independent Technical Steering Committee and scientists within the UK, and will be dealt with promptly.
Our service also offers pump-priming account for new users, giving them access to a small amount of resources (normally 100 CPU hours for 3 months duration) to try out the software packages, for use in training and also to estimate the amount of resources required for their project before submitting a full application. For pump-priming application, please complete the standard application form with your contact details, the title of your project and the software packages you wish to access. There is no need to submit a full project proposal at this stage.
Further information on how to apply for resources can be found in the application guidelines, which can be downloaded from the link below.
